Oral cancer screenings are a very important part of the dental visit for the patient. We perform full visual oral cancer screenings at every comprehensive and periodic exam. It is extremely important to treat any issues prior to them becoming a major irreversible problem, therefore early detection is key.
We use Oral ID technology as an adjunct to help identify any abnormal tissue. Oral ID uses a proven, optically based technology called, "fluorescence technology." Oral ID's fluorescence technology uses a blue light (435–460 nm) that provides us a visualization of oral cancer, pre-cancer and other abnormal lesions.
Certain lifestyle choices can have a great impact on the health of tissues and your overall health. If you are a smoker or drinker, make sure to get regular exams and therefore regular oral cancer screenings.
